Dianthus Corona Mix

Dianthus Corona Mix

NZ$2.50

A mix of bright pinks through to soft reds and whites. It lasts very will in a vase and has strong stems for flower arranging. It is great for near the edge of perennial borders. It is a prolific self seeder and very easy to collect the seeds and spread throughout the garden. Best performance is in the cool weather, making it great planted along with other cool-season flowers such as pansies.

Sowing advice:

  1. Sow Spring, late Summer or Autumn directly into the soil, you can just scatter them or in a pot first. I prefer to sow mine in February or March and plant them out so they fatten up over Winter and then shoot away in the Spring when the soil warms up. You can really scatter them all year around just about.

  2. Sow them 2 times the depth of the seed. Water them in gently but don’t soak them or the seed can rot.

  3. Keep the seed raising slightly damp but not wet. Germinates in 1 to 2 weeks.
