The Spicy Mix: Mizuna, Radish and Beetroot Mix Micro Green Seed Pack
The Spicy Mix: Mizuna, Radish and Beetroot Mix Micro Green Seed Pack
The Mix has Mizuna, Beetroot and Radish. The Mizuna is fast growing and will be the first up, then the Radish and later the pinky red shoots of sweet Beetroot. It has a punchy flavour with an almost spicy taste. If you can’t handle sweet chilli sauce, then this is not the mix for you! Add to any savory meal for a boost of nutrients, flavour and colour. The Mix will be ready for harvest in approximately 7-10 days.
How to grow your mix microgreens:
Prepare your tray* with drainage holes and fill with potting mix or seed raising mix (make sure you are wearing a face mask).
Sprinkle your seed evenly but generously over the soil (you don’t need to use the whole pack, the seed last a long time in the pack). You can sprinkle a little bit of soil over the seeds which can help speed up and create a more even germination. Sit them somewhere they can get light but it does not need to be a sunny spot.
To assure germination and rapid growth, keep the seed tray moist but not drenched, using a spray bottle to do your watering is the best. I usually spray them once a day.
Once they are approximately 5cm long, cut or pick them above the soil line. Try to patch cut them so that the smaller seedlings can get space and light and you will get more growth from your tray.
Add to a soup, salad or even your eggs and avo on toast to give that extra boost of flavour, nutrients and colour.
*Use any tray around the house such as an ice cream container, old meat tray, margarine container, as long as you can put drainage holes in the bottom.
