Chocolate Dara Ornamental Carrot
Chocolate Dara Ornamental Carrot
NZ$2.50
A hardy biennial that has gorgeous umbellifer flowers with chocolatey purple colours. They are Winter hardy so I like to sow them in the Autumn and they can fatten up over the Winter. They will last for a few years and then some of the flowers will start to reverie back to a white colour.

Sowing advice:
Sow early Spring or Autumn directly into the soil, you can just scatter them or in a pot first. I prefer to sow mine in February or March and plant them out so they fatten up over Winter and then shoot away in the Spring when the soil warms up.
Sow them 2 times the depth of the seed. Water them in gently but don’t soak them or the seed can rot.
Keep the seed raising slightly damp but not wet. Germinates in 1 to 2 weeks.
